Ali Bedni Bugyal Trek

Among all the high-altitude meadows we've explored across the Himalayas, Ali Bedni Bugyal stands unparalleled - where the colossal faces of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti rise a staggering 6,000-7,000 feet directly from the grassland, creating one of the most awe-inspiring mountain vistas in India. At Trip to Trek, we've witnessed seasoned adventurers moved to tears by this overwhelming spectacle, where the sheer vertical might of these Himalayan giants meets the gentle beauty of sprawling alpine meadows in a panorama that redefines mountain grandeur.

Your Ali Bedni Bugyal adventure begins with an enchanting walk through ancient forests, crossing the sparkling Neel Ganga stream. In spring, the trail transforms into a colorful tunnel of blooming rhododendrons, with towering cypress and oak trees creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. After a full day of forest trekking, you'll emerge at Gehroli Patal's beautiful clearing - the perfect introduction to the alpine wonderland that awaits.

Nothing prepares you for that first breathtaking moment when you step onto the vast, open meadows with Trishul and Nanda Ghunti's massive faces rising dramatically before you. The climb to Bedni Top rewards you with even more spectacular views - the iconic Chaukhamba massif unfolding in all its glory. At Trip to Trek, we've seen countless trekkers freeze in awe at this unforgettable Himalayan panorama.

The next day brings the magical ridge walk across Ali Bugyal's soft, grassy slopes - so inviting you might kick off your shoes! For hours, you'll stroll with an incredible mountain procession: Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Mrigthuni and Maiktoli peaks keeping you company along the entire ridge. These back-to-back days among India's grandest meadows create memories that last forever.

Many don't realize this trek follows part of the historic Roopkund route - making it your best chance to experience this iconic trail. At Trip to Trek, we consider Ali Bedni Bugyal the crown jewel of Indian meadow treks, offering beginner-friendly access to some of the Himalayas' most dramatic landscapes.
